Both new models are equipped with BYD’s latest DM 5.0 plug-in hybrid technology, combining a 1.5L engine with an electric motor. The engine delivers a maximum power of 74 kW, while the electric motor offers up to 160 kW, paired with a lithium iron phosphate Blade battery. Three electric-only range options are available: 75 km, 112 km, and 160 km.
The officially stated combined range is 1,500 kilometers, but previous media tests have achieved over 2,000 kilometers. Additionally, the Song L DM-i, as a new model, adopts a front MacPherson independent suspension and a rear four-link independent suspension, equipped with FSD (frequency-selective damping) shock absorbers to ensure ride comfort and stability.
