NIO has established an extensive network of over 2400 battery-swapping stations globally, including more than 800 along highways. At these stations, the battery-swapping process is impressively fast. In the latest fourth-generation NIO battery-swapping stations, the process can be completed in as little as 2 minutes and 24 seconds. Drivers can enter the station, and through an automated process, the depleted battery is removed and replaced with a fully-charged one without the need to leave the vehicle. This not only saves time but also eliminates concerns about battery degradation, as the swapped batteries are maintained and managed by NIO.
