On May 15, Onvo, the sub-brand of NIO, officially launched its new mid-to-large pure electric SUV, the Onvo L80. Built on the same NT 3.0 flagship platform as the L90, the new model is positioned as an "intelligent dual-cabin large five-seat flagship SUV." With its exceptional interior space, standard air suspension across the lineup, and NIO's battery swap system, the L80 is making a strong push into the RMB 250,000-class family EV market.
Exterior Design
Youthful and Sporty with Attention to Every Detail
The Onvo L80 continues the brand's family design language, sharing an overall styling direction with the L90 while featuring more youthful and dynamic details. The new model introduces an exclusive new color called Cengfeng Green, alongside Jingyue Black, Chenhui Silver, and Xuefeng White, offering a total of four exterior color options.
The vehicle comes standard with a black sports styling package, featuring gloss-black trim and black side skirts that visually raise the vehicle's side profile and enhance its sporty stance. The 21-inch six-spoke gloss-black sport wheels and dual-tone exterior mirrors further strengthen the athletic appearance.
Areas prone to scratches and wear - including the wheel arches, lower door trim, and front/rear bumpers - are finished in gloss black, balancing both aesthetics and practicality.
In addition, the new vehicle is equipped with lidar and Onvo's signature blue intelligent-driving indicator lights, combining advanced technology with strong visual recognition.

The Onvo L80 measures 5145 mm in length with a 3110 mm wheelbase, achieving an impressive 60.4% wheelbase-to-length ratio and an industry-leading 81.5% space utilization rate.
Thanks to its fully flat floor design, rear passengers enjoy exceptional comfort, with 1121 mm of second-row legroom - enough for a 1.8-meter-tall passenger to comfortably sit cross-legged.
Front trunk
Storage capacity is one of the Onvo L80's biggest highlights. Its 240L powered front trunk can accommodate two 20-inch suitcases plus a children's suitcase. The standard rear cargo area offers 1200L of storage space, expandable to 2600L after folding the second-row seats, with a maximum loading depth of 2.2 meters.

The vehicle also features 106L outer underfloor storage and 63L inner hidden storage compartments, bringing the total storage capacity to an impressive 2840L, making it one of the most spacious large five-seat SUVs in the Chinese market.

"Three-Layer Spatial Design" with Four-Screen Interaction
The Onvo L80 adopts a unique "Three-Layer Spatial Design" interior concept. The upper layer features a 16-million-color Galaxy ambient lighting system combined with a 7.2-meter ultra-long light strip, creating an immersive atmosphere. The middle layer uses titanium-tone soft-light trim to shape a refined interactive space, while the lower layer employs a floating bridge-style design to provide an open and practical storage area.
The cabin is equipped with a 35-inch AR-HUD, a 17.2-inch 3K central touchscreen, an 8-inch rear scenario display, and a 17.3-inch ceiling-mounted entertainment screen, forming an advanced four-screen interactive system.
For audio, the vehicle features the Onvo Sound Premium audio system with 23 speakers, a 2048W amplifier, and 7.1.4 Dolby Atmos surround sound for an immersive listening experience.
The 8.8L fully electric smart refrigerator supports a wide temperature range from 0–15°C cooling and 35–50°C heating. A 1.1㎡ panoramic glass roof with front and rear dual electric sunshades further enhances cabin comfort.
The seats are equipped with 8-point massage, backrest suction ventilation, seat cushion airflow ventilation, as well as side bolster and shoulder heating, delivering a comprehensive luxury seating experience.
Powertrain & Performance
900V High-Voltage Platform with 0–100 km/h in 4.5 Seconds
The Onvo L80 comes standard with a 900V high-voltage platform and is available in both rear-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive configurations.
The RWD version delivers a maximum output of 340 kW, accelerates from 0–100 km/h in 5.7 seconds, consumes only 14.3 kWh/100 km, and offers a CLTC range of 615 km.
The AWD version is equipped with a 100 kW front motor and a 340 kW rear motor, producing a combined output of 440 kW. It sprints from 0–100 km/h in just 4.5 seconds and provides a CLTC range of 570 km.
All variants come standard with an 85 kWh lithium iron phosphate battery pack, supporting ultra-fast battery swapping in just 3 minutes. Fast charging from 10% to 80% takes only 15 minutes, while the vehicle also supports dual-port V2L external power output (3.3 kW + 2.2 kW) for camping and outdoor power needs.
Advanced Driver Assistance
Dual Solutions Available, Both at the Industry's Top Tier
The Onvo L80 offers two intelligent driving solutions: a lidar-equipped version and a pure vision-based version.
The lidar version is powered by NIO's self-developed 5nm Shenji NX9031 chip, featuring over 50 billion transistors and computing power exceeding 1000 TOPS. Combined with NIO's World Model (NWM), it enables advanced full-scenario urban navigation assistance.
The pure vision version is equipped with the NVIDIA Orin-X chip, supporting functions such as highway NOA (Navigate on Autopilot) and automatic parking assistance.
Both systems are connected to NIO's nationwide network of more than 3,600 battery swap stations and over 8,000 charging and battery swap facilities, ensuring a seamless experience for both intelligent driving and energy replenishment.
Chassis configuration
Air Suspension + CDC Standard Across the Entire Lineup
The Onvo L80 features a chassis setup with a front double-wishbone suspension and a rear five-link independent suspension. All models come standard with a 100 mm-travel intelligent air suspension system and CDC continuously variable damping shock absorbers, complemented by four sets of comfort-oriented hydraulic bushings and a staggered tire setup.
The vehicle also debuts NIO's innovative 4D Full-Domain Comfort Control System, which integrates lidar-based road preview capability to monitor road conditions in real time and proactively adjust the suspension for an optimal balance between comfort and handling.
Multiple driving modes are available, including Mud, Sand, and Wet Surface modes. The Onvo L80 offers a minimum ground clearance of 260 mm and a maximum wading depth of 600 mm, providing solid light off-road capability.
In terms of safety, the entire lineup comes standard with nine airbags, while the body structure achieves a torsional rigidity of 38,150 N·m/deg.
