On November 6th, the highly anticipated all-new Tank 400 will officially launch, making a strong debut with a trendy and cool image, bringing young users a new all-around travel experience that can be enjoyed both in the city and off-road. The new Tank 400 will be available in two power versions: Hi4-T and Hi4-Z. The new vehicle features comprehensive upgrades in exterior, interior, intelligent driving, and power, presenting a brand-new feast for off-road enthusiasts.

Rugged Mecha Style, Refreshed Details

The new Tank 400 continues the classic mecha style, showcasing its rugged off-road charm in the details. The front grille is larger, with two horizontal chrome strips paired with polygonal headlights, exuding a sharp yet resolute look. The front bumper has been redesigned, with straight lines and high-power LED fog lights, providing a maximum illumination distance of approximately 31.6 meters, ensuring nighttime driving safety. Meanwhile, black trim and a far-infrared night vision system add a touch of technology.

On the side, the rugged wheel arches feature rivet details that highlight its off-road spirit, while the new blacked-out wheels add a touch of style and dynamism. At the rear, the externally mounted spare tire is paired with the same spare tire cover as the Tank 300, creating a clean and sophisticated look. Newly added blue driver assistance lights complement the redesigned rear bumper, and the rear badge layout has been adjusted to enhance visibility.

Stepping inside, the new Tank 400's interior maintains its overall layout while showcasing quality and technology in every detail. The 15.6-inch central control screen supports 2.5K resolution and features the third-generation Coffee OS infotainment system with Coffee GPT large-scale voice interaction, ensuring smooth operation. The 12.3-inch full LCD instrument cluster and HUD head-up display complement each other, providing the driver with clear driving information.

The three-spoke steering wheel with a column shifter is convenient and tactile. The redesigned lower center console integrates two ventilated wireless charging panels with metallic off-road control buttons, placing vehicle control, seat adjustment, and power switching functions within easy reach. A heated/cooled compartment in the front center armrest caters to the needs of storing hot and cold beverages. The 15.6-inch 2.5K entertainment screen in the roof (expected to be standard on the Smart Edition) and the optimized rear air conditioning vent screens provide passengers with a pleasant entertainment experience.

Laser Navigation, Advanced Assistance

The new Tank 400 achieves a major breakthrough in intelligent driving, with the Hi4-T and Hi4-Z models expected to launch a Smart Edition. This version features the third-generation Coffee Pilot Ultra driver assistance system, a Hesai ATX lidar mounted on the roof, and side-view cameras, supporting advanced driver assistance functions such as city NOA and highway NOA, making driving easier and safer. Other powertrain models offer basic driver assistance capabilities to meet daily driving needs.

 

Power Performance

In terms of power, the new Tank 400 offers two platform options: Hi4-T and Hi4-Z. The Hi4-T is positioned for strong off-road capability, employing a non-decoupled, ladder-frame, and mechanical four-wheel-drive design. It features a plug-in hybrid system consisting of a 2.0T engine and a single electric motor, offering a pure electric range of 105 kilometers, balancing power and range.

The Hi4-Z is designed for broader off-road scenarios, featuring a 2.0T engine + P2 and P4 dual electric motors, paired with a 3-speed DHT + continuously variable transmission, achieving a pure electric range of 200 kilometers and providing more robust power output. Both models support a maximum external power output of 6 kW, meeting outdoor power needs and offering convenience for camping or emergency use.
