On May 11, the 2026 BYD Seagull under BYD's Ocean Series officially launched, offering a total of four variants. As an annual facelift model, the new vehicle has been comprehensively upgraded in terms of exterior design, interior features, smart cockpit, driver assistance systems, and safety performance. For the first time, an optional lidar system is available in the A00-class segment, bringing advanced intelligent driving capabilities to the entry-level urban EV market with a true "more features at the same price" approach.

More Refined Details with Vibrant New Colors
The 2026 BYD Seagull continues the current model's sporty hatchback styling, featuring a fully enclosed front fascia. The vehicle measures 3780 × 1715 × 1540 mm, with a 2500 mm wheelbase, maintaining the core advantages of an A00-class city car - compact dimensions, agility, and easy maneuverability.
This facelift introduces two new exterior colors: Mango Orange and Mint Green, along with newly designed 16-inch Starburst dynamic wheels, further enhancing the vehicle's refined appearance.
At the rear, the car upgrades to a smoked full-width taillight design. The BYD lettering has been relocated to the center inside the light assembly, remaining hidden when unlit and illuminating independently when activated, combining both strong visual recognition and a modern technological feel.
Interior & Features
Powered by DiLink 150, Comfort and Smart Experience Greatly Upgraded
The 2026 BYD Seagull introduces a new Oat Beige interior theme, joining the existing blue, pink, and green options to form a total of four color schemes. The dashboard is equipped with a 12.8-inch floating central touchscreen, featuring the advanced DiLink 150 intelligent cockpit system. Combined with a refreshed UI design and a deeply customized version of Amap navigation, both infotainment interaction and navigation accuracy have been significantly improved.
Comfort features have also been comprehensively upgraded. New additions include automatic climate control, four-way steering wheel adjustment, a 6-way power-adjustable driver's seat, front seat heating, and three-level adjustable front headrests.
Wireless phone charging has been upgraded from 15W to 50W, while convenient features such as an NFC digital car key, VTOL mobile power station, heated exterior mirrors, and a center armrest box with opening lid are also included.
In addition, the entire lineup now comes standard with high-definition panoramic imaging and a transparent chassis view system. The windshield wiper system has also been upgraded from a single wiper to a dual-wiper setup with four adjustable speeds, further enhancing safety during rainy driving conditions.
Products Description
The 2026 BYD Seagull comes standard across the lineup with a 55 kW permanent magnet synchronous motor, paired with 30.08 kWh and 38.88 kWh Blade Battery packs. Under CLTC conditions, the pure-electric range reaches 305 km and 405 km respectively.

The most significant breakthrough of this facelift is that the 2026 BYD Seagull has become the world's first A00-class pure electric vehicle equipped with lidar. The 305 km Freedom Edition and 405 km Flying Edition can be optionally equipped with the God's Eye B advanced driver assistance lidar system (DiPilot 300).
This system supports CNOA (City Navigation On Autopilot), enabling advanced features such as traffic light recognition with countdown display, full-scenario obstacle avoidance and yielding, complex traffic negotiation, automatic roundabout entry and exit with lane selection, and highway/high-speed navigation assistance. It covers the vast majority of commuting scenarios, from major urban roads to narrow side streets. The system also includes AEB (Automatic Emergency Braking) and DMS (Driver Monitoring System), significantly reducing driver workload in city traffic. Even without the optional lidar package, the lower- and mid-spec models are still equipped with God's Eye C, providing essential L2-level intelligent driving assistance features.

In terms of passive safety, the 2026 BYD Seagull continues the core safety advantages of the e-Platform 3.0 pure-electric architecture, featuring a high-strength body structure designed specifically for EVs and equipped with BYD's Blade Battery. For active safety, the entire lineup comes standard with a high-definition panoramic camera system.
