On May 15, Haval SUV officially launched its all-new midsize-to-large SUV - the Haval Raptor PLUS. The new model is available in both five-seat and seven-seat layouts. As an upgraded member of the Raptor family, the vehicle features a 112 mm wheelbase extension to 2850 mm, comes standard with Hi4 intelligent four-wheel-drive hybrid technology, and introduces lidar and advanced driver assistance systems for the first time, officially targeting the RMB 200,000-class hardcore SUV market.
Exterior Design
Classic Boxy Styling with Refined Ruggedness
The Haval Raptor PLUS continues the Raptor family's signature "boxy" design language. Measuring 4912/1950/1905 mm in length, width, and height, the new model gains an additional 112 mm in both overall length and wheelbase compared to the current Raptor PHEV, upgrading from a midsize SUV to a midsize-to-large SUV.
At the front, the new Haval Raptor PLUS removes the current model's iconic three horizontal grille bars, replacing them with a silver wide-panel closed-off design for a cleaner and more modern visual effect. The rectangular LED headlights on both sides feature a slightly playful appearance, creating an interesting contrast with the rugged body shape. The front bumper is noticeably larger and more protruding, while the thick silver skid plate underneath further enhances the approach angle and off-road capability.
From the side, the signature boxy silhouette remains bold and muscular. The third-row side windows are significantly enlarged, while a silver trim panel between the C- and D-pillars gives the vehicle a more elongated and balanced profile. A newly added roof-mounted lidar module signals a major upgrade in intelligent driving technology. The new vehicle is available in Dunhuang Green, Ink Gray, Midnight Black, Moonlight White, and Crystal Yellow exterior colors.
At the rear, the classic design continues with an almost 90-degree upright tailgate and strong body lines that emphasize power and toughness. The high-mounted brake light has been relocated to the upper edge of the rear windshield, while the side-opening tailgate and iconic backpack-style spare tire remain. Buyers can also opt for an external storage box in place of the spare tire, combining practicality with individuality.

Inside the cabin
The Haval Raptor PLUS significantly enhances both technology and comfort while retaining its rugged character. The dashboard features a 15.6-inch 2.5K floating central touchscreen powered by the Coffee OS 3 intelligent infotainment system, delivering smoother operation and a richer digital ecosystem. A sturdy fixed grab handle is positioned in front of the front passenger seat, while the gear selector area is accented with carbon-fiber trim, further emphasizing the hardcore off-road atmosphere.
In terms of seating
The front seats come standard with heating, ventilation, and massage functions. The "Queen's front passenger seat" is additionally equipped with a 2-way power-adjustable leg rest, ensuring outstanding comfort during long-distance journeys. The cabin also includes a 5.4 L heating and cooling refrigerator, allowing passengers to enjoy cold drinks in summer or warm beverages in winter at any time. The entire vehicle offers 45 storage compartments, providing excellent practicality for daily and outdoor use.
In terms of space
The five-seat version of the Haval Raptor PLUS provides a standard trunk capacity of 669 L, expandable to 1691 L with the second-row seats folded flat. The seven-seat version adopts a 2+3+2 seating layout, and with the rear two rows fully folded flat, cargo capacity reaches 1549 L, perfectly meeting the needs of both family travel and outdoor adventures.
Powertrain Performance
Hi4 AWD Standard Across the Lineup, with Over 1,000 km Combined Range
Powertrain
The powertrain is one of the core highlights of the Haval Raptor PLUS. The entire lineup comes standard with Great Wall's second-generation Hi4 intelligent four-wheel-drive hybrid system, consisting of a new-generation high-efficiency 1.5T hybrid-dedicated engine, dual electric motors on the front and rear axles, and a high-safety power battery pack.
The system delivers a combined maximum output of 330 kW and peak torque of 660 N·m, enabling acceleration from 0–100 km/h in just 5.8 seconds.
In terms of range
The new model offers two pure-electric range options under CLTC conditions: 195 km and 255 km respectively. Both versions achieve a WLTC combined range of over 1,000 km, while fuel consumption in low-battery conditions is as low as 6.2 L/100 km, truly delivering the flexibility of both electric and fuel-powered driving with worry-free long-distance travel.
Off-road capability has not been compromised either. The vehicle is equipped with a rear electronically controlled mechanical differential lock, and supports both crawl mode and steering assist functions. It also offers a minimum ground clearance of 221 mm (unladen) and a maximum wading depth of 580 mm, allowing it to confidently handle light to moderate off-road conditions.
Intelligent Driving
Lidar Integration Makes Advanced Driver Assistance a Major Strength
Intelligent driving is one of the biggest highlights of the Haval Raptor PLUS upgrade. High-spec versions are equipped with a roof-mounted lidar system, combined with multiple perception sensors throughout the vehicle, enabling advanced driver assistance functions such as Highway NOA and Urban NOA.
The system supports a wide range of smart driving scenarios, including intelligent lane changing, automatic parking, and ramp navigation.
In addition, the entire lineup comes standard with the L2-level Coffee Pilot driver assistance system, featuring core functions such as adaptive cruise control, lane keeping assist, and automatic emergency braking, ensuring intelligent safety features are available even on entry-level models.
In essence, the Haval Raptor PLUS is an "enlarged and more intelligent" version of the Raptor. It targets users who want a combination of rugged styling, spacious interior, and advanced smart technology-a niche segment that currently has relatively few competitors. As a result, the Raptor PLUS has strong potential to become a new best-selling model.
