On the evening of November 4th, BYD officially announced the launch of the 2026 BYD Summer. The new car offers four configurations for consumers to choose from. Compared to the old model, although the exterior and interior have not changed much, the pure electric range has been increased and some configurations have been upgraded, striving to create a new space for comfortable travel.
Vehicle Exterior
Grand and Stable, Exquisitely Crafted Details

The 2026 BYD Xia continues the large-mouth grille design with a dot-matrix internal structure, creating a strong visual impact. The smoked headlights integrate lenses and daytime running lights, sharp and spirited, paired with a continuous chrome strip that visually widens the vehicle. The vertical air intakes on the fenders on both sides of the grille not only optimize aerodynamics but also add a touch of sophistication with chrome accents. The flat air intake at the bottom further enhances the car's stable appearance.
On the side, the rounded roofline creates a floating roof effect, while the continuous waistline adds a sense of layering. The raised lines on the wheel arches and side skirts break the monotony. The multi-spoke wheels are simple and elegant. At the rear, a large spoiler and high-mounted brake light enhance the sporty feel, while the smoked, continuous taillights with their distinctive Chinese knot-like light source are highly recognizable. The recessed license plate frame, the continuous chrome strip on the lower bumper, and the flat fog lights together create a rich and layered rear design. The new car measures 5145/1970/1805mm in length, width, and height, with a wheelbase of 3045mm, offering a significant space advantage.
Vehicle Interior
Technologically Advanced and Practical, Rich in Comfort Features

While the interior of the 2026 BYD Xia remains largely unchanged, it perfectly blends technology and practicality. The three-spoke multi-function steering wheel, embedded full LCD instrument panel, floating central control screen, and electronic gear selector offer convenient operation. The wireless charging panel and cup holders on the dashboard, along with the retained physical buttons, balance practicality and convenience.
The seating arrangement features a 2+2+3 seven-seat layout with a reasonable space arrangement. The front armrest integrates a car refrigerator, adding to travel convenience. The front seats come standard with electric adjustment, ventilation, and heating functions; the second-row seats in models above the second-lowest trim level also support ventilation and heating, ensuring comfort for passengers in all seasons. Furthermore, the new car comes standard with a wealth of features including tire pressure monitoring, automatic parking, hill start assist, Cloud Car C, hill descent control, and a panoramic camera, comprehensively enhancing the driving and riding experience.
Intelligent Driving

Tiered Configurations to Meet Diverse Needs
In terms of intelligent driving, the 2026 BYD Xia offers tiered configurations. The mid-range model uses the "Eye of the Gods" C solution, meeting basic daily intelligent driving needs. The top-of-the-line model upgrades to the "Eye of the Gods" B solution with lidar, supporting city NOA functionality and enabling more complex intelligent driving scenarios, providing drivers with a safer and more convenient travel experience. The low-end model does not feature the advanced "Eye of the Gods" driver assistance functions, catering to consumers with limited budgets but a basic need for intelligent driving.
Power Performance
In terms of power, the 2026 BYD Xia is equipped with a 1.5T plug-in hybrid system, with a maximum engine power of 156 horsepower and a maximum electric motor power of 272 horsepower, delivering strong performance. The new car features a large-capacity battery pack, providing a pure electric range of up to 218km, meeting the needs of daily urban commuting. The combined range reaches up to 1163km, eliminating the need for frequent charging on long journeys. Furthermore, the fuel consumption is only 4.9L per 100km when the battery is depleted, significantly reducing operating costs. In addition, the vehicle supports fast charging, allowing for a quick and convenient full charge.

The 2026 BYD Xia, with its stylish exterior, practical interior, intelligent features, and excellent power performance, demonstrates strong competitiveness in the fiercely competitive MPV market. Its affordable price and rich features will undoubtedly provide consumers with a higher quality travel option, and it is expected to become a new favorite for family travel and business hospitality
